The Strategies and Activities contained in this plan are based on the constructive criticism, suggestions and aspirations of ten stakeholder groups representing students, parents, community members, elementary and secondary teachers and specialists, support staff, administrators and Board of Education members. The plan is grounded on research and best practices, and aligns with known District, state and federal initiatives that include:
· continued support and expansion of STEM programming and integration
· shifting from a teacher-centered to a student-centered learning environment
· personalized learning
· infusion of instructional technology as an integral component teaching and learning
· curricular alignment to rigorous Common Core Standards
· narrowing the achievement gap at all levels across all groups
· ensuring that all students graduate college- and career-ready
Specific Deliverables have been identified in each goal section and progress towards achieving these deliverables will be measured and updated in this document on a semi-annual basis.
Note: Annual student achievement goals are not contained in this document. Student achievement goals will be determined annually and aligned with the Delaware Department of Education's Academic Framework and USDoE's ESEA requirements.
