Programs of study

Samples

The Brandywine School District is committed to Embracing, Inspiring and Challenging Every Student Every Day.  In the spirit of continuous improvement, the District is designing Programs of Study that clearly define Career and Academic Pathways that will offer challenging curricula ensuring that students graduate college- and career-ready.  Each Program of Study aligns to one or more of the sixteen Career Clusters found in the Delaware Department of Education’s Student Success Plan (SSP).  Students across the state complete Student Success Plans as part of their middle school experience.  As students enter high school, they will have the opportunity to choose a Program of Study that aligns to their interests and career aspirations.

Each Program of Study course will meet the following requirements:
  • The Program of Study will consist of a sequence of courses that result in pathway completion as part of graduation requirements.
  • Programs of Study will not only be tied to student interests, but are also based on current and forecasted employment and career statistics.
  • Programs of Study will have an articulation agreement with colleges and universities.
  • All Programs of Study will use research-based curriculum.
  • Programs of Study will build in real life connections by engaging in the work of actual practitioners in the field.
